Queen Yoza in Meditation

I haven't been so excited about a full illustration in a long time. The character depicted here is Yoza, the queen of a tribe of gnomes that live deep underground in the world of The Verdant Deep. I spent a lot of time thinking about composition with this piece, going so far as to do some sort of test sketches with positive/negative space and depth considerations I have historically not given enough thought.
