Colors, Rendered, without texturing

This is a bust portrait of a Ghoul character named Charlie Styles I was commissioned to paint for use in a Fallout TTRPG. I had a lot of fun working with this client, particularly because they had such a clear concept in mind. I started with a handful of sketches, to narrow down a pose that would best capture the vibe the client was going for. From there I cleaned up the line work, which as usual I set as a multiply layer over my painting layer. I used a more simple rendering style, smudging a lot of the color to achieve a softer blend, in order to keep the cost of the project low. A lot of the texture comes from the paper layer I place on top of the final painting (set to Overlay), which gives everything a toothier feel, and makes the colors pop more.
