BlackFox, Champion of the Venthyr

About two months ago I joined a guild in World of Warcraft, the first I'd ever been in that I wasn't the leader of. It was my first time dipping my toe into endgame content since Wrath of the Lich King about 10 years ago. BlackFox is the leader of our guild's Heroic raiding team, and he did a lot to get me up to speed and ready for raiding. I felt I owed him a lot and painted this as a surprise for him.

You can see a big shift in the colors between the flat blocks and the partial render. I color picked pretty literally in the flat stage, but decided I wanted a more harmonious look for the final. It's subtle, but I think much more effective. This is also the first piece I've done that required *a lot* of fur, so learning how to paint fur convincingly was a new fun challenge.
